Kasr Ibrim

A few kilometres upstream from el-Lessiya ( about 146 miles south of Aswan.)and again on the same side of the Nile,Qasr Ibrim ( the Greek primes and Latin prima)served as a fortress site in paranoiac and Roman times and held at least one temple of New Kingdom date-though the names of the ruler who built it and the deity to whom it was dedicated have not survived. This small stone temple was apparently restored (in mud-brick) by Taharqa, and the structure was later converted to use as a church in early Christian times.
