MS Radamis Nile Cruise

My husband and I were hugely impressed at the personalized guest service we received from Ashraf and Georgina, the lovely owners of Reflections Travel, as well as our knowledgable guide, Khaled. I should start off by noting that we made the trip to Upper Egypt when I was about 7.5 months pregnant. Maybe it was pregnancy brain, but a communications error happened during our planning and we arrived in Aswan only to realize I'd booked us on a cruise leaving one day later than what I had thought. It took a little sorting to realize what had happened, but in the end Ashraf and Georgina worked around-the-clock to fix the snafu and get us on a different cruise. They really minimized the stress of what could have been a disastrous error. In the end it was as if no mistake had ever happened; we had an even better trip than we would have imagined going into it! Amazingly, Reflections Travel didn't even want to charge us for the rebookings. We insisted to split the cost with them, which wasn't much at all. As my husband said, it's the true measure of a company to see how they handle challenges and changes in plans... and Ashraf and Georgina are true professionals! They really went above and beyond. Also, we highly recommend that you request Khaled as your tour guide! He's a really sweet father of two daughters and is very kind and patient with travelers. He did a great job of personalizing our trip for us - and keeping my husband calmed down when we realized the error I'd made in booking the cruise! He did a good job of telling us stories and facts about all the temples and tombs we visited. He's a good storyteller; you can tell how much he loves his job as well as Egypt and it's history. You will not feel at all like you are in a lecture with a boring professor person; rather you will feel like you are making a new friend when you travel with him as your guide! Plus he was patient about all the questions we asked plus didn't mind all the photos we wanted to stop and take. He was also really great about taking photos of my husband and I together - we usually return from trips without many of those. Not this time, thanks to Khaled! He also did a good job of helping us decide which things to see. There is so much history in Luxor and Khaled is great for helping people with less background in ancient Egyptian history to know which are the most interesting sites. For example, he took us to the excavated worker's village in the Valley of the Kings where we saw probably the most colorful tomb of our trip. Just as Khaled said, this tomb of the supervisor in the worker's village was probably as or more interesting and intact site than Karnak, which we visited later. Also, ask him to take you to the Africa restaurant in Luxor. We went back twice because the food, service and the vista overlooking the Nile were all so, so good. Thank you to Khaled, Ashraf and Georgina for such a memorable experience. We can't wait to return to Upper Egypt with more of our family someday soon!
